AIR CONTROL UNIT

In conjunction with the accessory cradle mounted out in the back, the air compressor and tank tie into this air control unit by Up Down Air. I needed to make sure this unit was easy to reach, but wasn’t an eye sore sticking out in plain sight. The void between the front bumper side-mounts and the front core support were an ideal location. With a mount drawn up and cut, I welded it up together and was able to reuse an existing hole on the side mount.

The air controller allows for the 4 corners outfitted with schrader valves to inflate the tires simultaneously. I was able to utilize the rock light mounts I’d previously designed and welded out to mount the schradder valves. Keeping these away from the tires and any other moving parts was important while still maintaining a quick and easy path to them.

The ‘Betty-Bars’ affix to both ends of the green air hose and allow for a quick and easy installation and removal once the tires have been refilled to the preset pressure set on the air control unit up front.
